We are a loose network of people who have been involved in participatory practice (community development, community organising, citizen enquiry and juries etc) as practitioners, researchers or writers for a long time. We are committed to community empowerment and the creation of a more inclusive, participatory and deliberative democracy and believe that participatory practice has an important role in helping create a deeper democracy. We exchange ideas, write and facilitate conversations on the issue. We have a close relationship with politically progressive think tank and action group Compass. Recent work includes the ruction of a pamphlet 'Participation at 45°: techniques for citizen led change' and facilitating an enquiry into new power and communities for Labour Together and Compass.
