Big Local is a Lottery-funded 10-year project. At the heart of Big Local is a vision of empowered, resilient, dynamic, asset-rich communities making their own decisions on what is best for their area. Beginning in 2013, Big Local granted £1m to each of 150 communities in England, including Collyhurst.

Collyhurst Big Local (CBL), North Manchester, has recently entered the final 18-months of its programme, delivering its last Big Local Plan, focusing on the legacy of Big Local in the area.
Some of the activities and projects CBL has funded over the last seven years or so include supporting local youth and training organisations, community centres and environmental improvements.
Collyhurst is undergoing massive regeneration and we are fighting for residents to have a meaningful say in what happens in our area.
When Big Local is fully invested, we intend to hand over to a community-led association called Connecting Collyhurst to pick up our work in the local area.
We have also set up Collyhurst Community Enterprises Ltd, to set up social enterprises and run social businesses in our area.
